Publication Ethics Policy
The Journal of Management, Economics, and Industrial Organization (JOMEINO) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and follows the principles, core practices, and flowcharts of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
All allegations of publication misconduct are handled in a fair, transparent, and confidential manner.
Submission of Complaints and Ethical Concerns
Ethical concerns, complaints, or allegations of misconduct may be submitted by authors, reviewers, readers, or institutions by contacting the journal’s Editorial Office using the contact information provided on the journal website.
Complaints should include sufficient detail and supporting evidence to enable an initial assessment.
Initial Assessment
Upon receipt of a complaint, the Editorial Office acknowledges the submission and forwards it to the Editor-in-Chief or a designated senior editor.
An initial assessment is conducted to determine whether:
- the allegation falls within the journal’s scope and responsibility;
- there is sufficient information to proceed;
- the issue requires further investigation.
Where appropriate, this initial assessment is normally completed within a reasonable timeframe, typically within 2–4 weeks.
Investigation and Editorial Review
If further investigation is warranted, the Editor-in-Chief or handling editor may:
- request explanations or clarifications from the author(s);
- consult independent experts or reviewers;
- review original data, similarity reports, or related publications.
All parties are given an opportunity to respond, and confidentiality is maintained throughout the process.
Editorial Decisions and Outcomes
Based on the findings of the investigation, the journal may take one or more of the following actions, in line with COPE guidelines:
- no action, if no ethical breach is confirmed;
- request for correction or clarification;
- publication of a corrigendum or erratum;
- publication of an expression of concern;
- retraction of the article;
- notification of the authors’ affiliated institutions, where appropriate.
Decisions are made based on the severity, intent, and impact of the ethical issue, as well as the integrity of the scholarly record.
Corrections, Retractions, and Article Visibility
Corrections, expressions of concern, and retractions are issued in accordance with COPE recommendations.
- Corrections and retractions are clearly identified and linked to the original article.
- The original article remains accessible to preserve the scholarly record but is clearly marked to indicate its status.
- Retraction notices state the reason for retraction and who initiated it, without defamatory language.
Appeals and Disputes
Authors have the right to appeal editorial decisions related to ethical matters. Appeals should be submitted in writing to the Editorial Office and will be reviewed by the Editor-in-Chief or an independent editor not involved in the original decision.
Commitment to Ethical Publishing
JOMEINO takes publication ethics seriously and continuously reviews its policies and procedures to ensure alignment with international best practices and COPE standards.
